From way back in February or early March…first piece woven on the big loom. I spent a lot of time looking at Japanese Boro and I think it seeped into some of my work subconsciously. Since then, I have moved out of Boston and finished my Junior year at MassArt. Lots to come soon…

Happy birthday to my mother and my best friend. I only wish I could be home with you today!

This past Monday I got back from my trip to Vietnam and I have found myself in a new year, still somewhat fighting jet lag and starting a new semester. When I am asked “so how was it?” I can still only answer with a few simple adjectives…beautiful, humbling and amazingly different from anything I’ve ever known. None of which seem to sum up the last two and a half weeks spent on the other side of the world but I guess they will have to do for now.

It’s been a while! I haven’t really kept this updated but here are a few images from the body of work I created this semester and will be continuing working on in the Spring. Some big news: Some of my pieces will be in Fresh Fiber Revisited at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, MA. The show will feature works of students from our Fibers Department at MassArt as well as RISD and U-Mass Dartmouth. This semester has been so busy but there are so many things to be thankful for! Tomorrow morning I am heading off to Vietnam for two and a half weeks. I can hardly believe it…pictures will follow!

It feels like the first official day of fall here today and we spent most of the day rearranging the apartment which turned out great. Luke and I ordered some supplies from Black Bear Haversack to get us started on some projects we have in mind for this semester including some really beautiful beads and antlers which I can’t wait to work with!
